FUN!

My teaching method is a blend of theory, demonstration and intense practice . Students are taught Technique,

Sight Reading, Ear Training and Music History as well. There will be a little bit of singing training  involved along the way, as the ability to pitch is helpful to become a refined musician.

Beginners start with a Piano Method book first, spending ample time for the rudiments and for the fundamental musical knowledge including melody and harmony. A proper grounding in fundamentals and music theory lays the foundation for mastering the instrument.

The Piano Room is equipped with 2 Kawai Concert Artist Series Digital Pianos and a GL 10 Baby Grand Piano for the best learning experience for the students.

It is also a home recording studio, where students, at a later stage, get to Video Record a piece they have learnt! The Video will be published on the official YouTube channel of The Piano Room. Please go to the gallery section to check out the videos!

I also conduct a yearly Student Recital, where students get to perform on the stage.

TESTIMONIAL

TESTIMONIALS

Finding a good teacher is one of the hardest things these days, and I feel blessed to be learning piano under Rishi sir at The Piano Room. He is extremely passionate about this art form and lives and breathes music. He teaches you very patiently, encourages you with positive appreciation, but also corrects your mistakes and takes you on the right path towards becoming a pianist. He treats each student differently and customises the study plan according to their interests, strengths, weaknesses and pace of growth. Due to his strong background in Carnatic Music, Western Classical Music, Audio Engineering, Music Composing, the amount of knowledge and experience he possesses is huge, and it's all up to you on how much you want to absorb from him. Ultimately, it's the student's responsibility to practice regularly to get better at

the piano, but having the right kind of mentor and guide makes a HUGE difference in your learning journey.

The added bonus is that we get to showcase our performance on the grand piano for the YouTube channel and there are student recitals too.

ABOUT ME

ABOUT ME

About me.png

Hi, I am Rishi!  Music is my passion and profession.

I started this venture The Piano Room in 2015 for teaching Western Classical Music in Piano. Prior to that I have been teaching music for almost 15 years. Though I started with the Keyboard Synthesiser, I switched to teaching Western Classical Piano in 2010 for my love of the genre. I have done my grade 8 in performance and Diploma in Teaching from The London College of Music. I love music theory, and music history and they give me a better perspective while teaching music.

Apart from Western Classical music, my other loves in music include Carnatic Classical and Hindustani Classical music. I have been formally trained in both Carnatic and Hindustani Vocals during my early years. I believe that having knowledge of our Shastriya Sangeeth gives an  edge in teaching western music.

I am also a certified Audio Engineer and teach Music Production and Composing.
